This personal project explores my interest in card and postcard design through a series of pieces centered around place, emotion, and personality. I enjoy creating designs that feel both visually engaging and personal, using illustration, typography, photography, and composition to turn small-format print pieces into memorable objects. Each card approaches storytelling differently; from nostalgic campus-inspired postcards to humor-driven greeting cards, while maintaining a strong focus on atmosphere, identity, and thoughtful visual detail.
For this postcard, I wanted to create a design that captured the atmosphere and familiarity of Marist University through one of its most recognizable architectural spaces, the Rotunda. I focused on creating a nostalgic and visually polished composition that reflected the campus environment while still feeling modern and design-driven. Through color, layout, and imagery, the postcard was intended to function both as a keepsake and as a stylized representation of campus identity.
I created this postcard for my sister using imagery inspired by the library at Wesleyan University. I wanted the design to feel warm, personal, and reflective of the academic atmosphere associated with the space. By focusing on the architecture and mood of the library, I aimed to create a postcard that felt both intimate and visually cohesive, balancing collegiate identity with a softer, more sentimental tone.
For this greeting card, I wanted to explore humor as a form of comfort. The concept centered around creating something playful and visually engaging for moments when someone is feeling sad, using comedy and lighthearted design as a way to shift emotion. Through expressive typography, composition, and tone, I focused on creating a card that felt intentionally overdramatic and humorous while still maintaining a sense of sincerity underneath the joke.
